Primary function:

He/She is responsible to lead the sales team for Ingredion Food business to achieve our short and long term goals in terms of sales revenues and profitability for a sizable business. He/She will develop and implement growth strategies to capture market share with our current and future product portfolio. He/She connects at the highest level with our Key Account and represents Ingredion. He/She will lead innovation strategies, new customer acquisitions and advise the country manager on strategic initiatives and organization changes requires. He/She will operate as the number two of the organization and in time will succeed to the country manager role.


Principal responsibilities and activities:

  • Drive sales team to deliver top line growth and trading profits as per annual goal and strategic plan period.
  • Create high level and strategic relationship with Key Accounts customers.
  • Negotiate and close key negotiations with large customers.
  • Providing timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs
  • Work with Marketing, Business Development and Technical functions to innovate and successfully launch new products.
  • Develop and manage high quality projects into Indonesia innovation pipeline. Shorten lifecycle time for projects in the funnel, increase project hit rate.
  • Developing and implementing effective sales strategies and mentor the sales team to position value properly
  • Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and reports
  • Manage a good level of demand forecast accuracy from customers. Control operational costs by identifying vendors that offer best value of services.
  • Identify and develop new areas of business for food starch in Indonesia.
  • Set-up a strong distribution network in Indonesia and maintain strong relationship with distributors to grow businesses into non-key account.
  • Work closely with Business Director and Finance Manager to establish annual sales and expense budget.
  • Lead, Inspire, motivate and develop the sales talents to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Ensure sales department expenses are within budget.
  • Ensure the Indonesia Sales function demonstrate high engagement in maintaining best-in-class safety record and community engagement.


Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

  • BSc. in Food Science or related subjects a must. MBA or postgraduate business education will be an advantage.
  • 15 or more years experiences, with minimum 7 years of selling to the food industry in Indonesia.
  • Proven work experience as a National Sales Manager
  • Experience managing a high performance sales team
  • Strong team management skills and supervisory skills at least 5 years
  • Strong business acumen, demonstrated strategic ability
  • An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication at all level of stakeholders
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Language Fluency – Bahasa Indonesia and English Language.
  • Availability to travel as needed.
